I'm sure I'm just being stupid about this, and I don't think I've ever had this issue in CorelDRAW, but in PhotoPaint, in trying to adjust an object's transparency, I wanted to remove transparency to start over. I select the Object Transparency tool and click the "No transparency" button, but the object remains transparent. For the object pane on the right, it shows the object's opacity at 100%. But I can barely see the object, like it's about 95% transparent.
This seems to happen to me frequently when I use the transparency gradient -- just throws the object into a weird hyper-transparency mode that I can't remove, but I'm not sure if that's really related.
Any ideas? How do I just remove all transparency as if I had never applied any transparency?
Thanks!
If you're talking about the entire object (layer in Adobespeak) with the object docker open select the object, at the top if the docker is a transparency slider.
If you used the transparency gradient tool you should be able to select the object, the tool undoo is adjust the transparency.
When you say, "with the object docker open select the object, at the top if the docker is a transparency slider," do you mean there should be a slider above the Object Docker? I don't see that. I do see a transparency dropdown and an Opacity spinner:
Note that changing "Overlay" in the drop-down shown in the screen shot does change the transparency, but other than setting opacity to 100, I don't see any way to turn off the transparency that works successfully. The setting above, even with 100% opacity, is still transparent.
Also, not sure what you mean by, "the tool undoo is adjust the transparency." I don't see any way to remove the transparency that works that way either. There is a "No transparency" option, which I have selected (see screenshot below), but the selected object remains transparent with the same gradient I had selected earlier:
This is the same object used in both of the screenshots above. The object remains transparent. I have the same experience with every object I add transparency. There seems to be no way to turn off transparency once it's been turned on. I don't have this problem in CorelDRAW, only in PhotoPaint.
Does this indicate something is wrong with my install or am doing something wrong?
Thanks,Colin
I believe that as soon as you switch to another tool (from Object Transparency tool) or use the "Apply" button to confirm the transparency, it will no longer be editable or removable.
You handle that much like you do in PS, you duplicate the original object before any editing, make it invisible and edit as you like. If you don't like it delete it then start fresh.
You also can use the nondestructive effects in the effects docker.
