Image resolution between DRAW a PHOTO PAINT

With a new version I realized that resizing of images in CorelDRAW has some issues...

It used to be very simple. The actual resolution (dpi) of needed picture size, as shown in DRAW, to be easily resampled in PHOTO PAINT (different dpi, same picture size). Now it seems to show the original import resolution in PAINT, even the value in DRAW seems to be correct... No way to get a concrete dpi after going back to DRAW.

Is that a bug, or only my problem?

It appears that when using the edit bitmap feature, Photo-PAINT 2023 only pickups up the resolution of images that have been resampled or convert to image at the placed resolution and size in Draw.

However if you resize the physical dimension in Draw but DO NOT resample or convert, if you use the edit bitmap feature Photo-PAINT reads the resolution of the original image, upon returning the edited image to Draw returns it to the physically resized resolution.

Just to clarify:

My inquiry was about a feature that WAS WORKING CORRECTLY in previous editions of CorelDraw Graphic Suite (2021 in my case) and probably THERE IS A BUG in 2023 version.

It makes sense that when you import an image into a page in selected document DPI (like 300), the image appears in corresponding real size in milimeters/inches - to have 300 DPI when printed.

But when you change the real size (in milimeters/inches) of the image on the page, to fit layout frame for example, its DPI changes as well on the page (like half size - double DPI), even the actual pixel size of the picture is obviously still the same (no resampling). DPI is always related to the real page size and actual DPI (not default 300 DPI anymore) is correctly shown on the bottom line in Draw.

My point was the when editing the image, Photo-Paint should also show the actual DPI of the edited picture in the document (same value as correctly shown in Draw for the very same picture), and not the default DPI set for the whole document (which was correct only for just imported image, before any size adjustment on the page). Then it should be possible to resample the image to get desired DPI (mostly the same valued for the whole document) while keeping its actual size and position in milimetres/inches on the page. It used to work pretty much like that in previous versions and made perfect sense...

I believe you're correct, it may have in previous versions worked as you described.

I have always worked as I described, (doing resampling in Draw) so I would not notice the change.

It would be interesting to know if this was a purposeful change or just an oversight.
