I'm trying to make a page of name tags where everything remains the same except for the name which I can change. I'm able to copy the rectangle but not the contents. How do I get the whole thing to copy so I can make a page of them? I just clicked and dragged in corel 6 but that's not working for me in corel 19
I just emailed it to you.
How would I check the layers, I tried to lock and unlock "objects" and nothing happened when I tried to copy the contents into another box.
OK, I have your file.
Are you familiar with performing a "marquee selection"? Where you click and drag to define a rectangular area, and it selects all objects within that area?
Just looking at your page 11, there is no "special" stuff that makes it hard to select in that way - but it is five separate objects, so you can't just click on it once to select all of them. A simple marquee selection works fine.
If you select multiple shapes and then Group them, then you can simply click once on the group to select it.
I was looking though everything and couldn't find the marquee selection. It's weird, because in Corel 6, I just clicked and dragged and there was no problem. Now you will know how dumb I really am. How do I select the multiple shapes and group them? I tried a grouping thing and it didn't seem to work. I think I have problems with the selection process.
Things will get easier after you learn some basics. I understand that it's frustrating if you are new to using some software, and you really want to get something done!
To marquee select, you would use the Pick tool. Left click, keep the mouse button held down, drag to define the rectangular area, then release the mouse button.
