I am a nube at website creator and know only a little about html. I have been fumbling around for a long time now trying to create a simple search box for my website, but I can only seem to create a free google site search which won't even work as google thinks its a robotic search.
Is there a way to create a local site search engine?
Hi.
I've used this program before.

Is easy and fast.

Thanks, I'll try this. No hope of the tools being already included in the X6 software then?
No, not really. What you want is more than a search form as forms require a program on the server to do something with the contents of the form, in this case search the site. The only way to get this with a website 'out of the box' is to use a content management system such as Wordpress, where advanced features like site search, comments, contact forms etc are either built in or provided as an add-on.
This does not sound like good news... :(
There are several site search services you could sign up for. Some of them have a free option so long as you accept their ads on the search results. Here's a list:

Thanks Roy, I am seeing this quite a lot. I just hoped it would be included in the software.
