Hi,
Can you please fix the "Nothing changed" error you often get when you try to combine curves? It has been here for several version now and also affects the shaping tools. After you close and restart the program, the curves are possible to combine/shape, but it's annoying and it's is clearly a bug.
I know this is old but this problem keep plaguing me every so often. I have a file I was working on yesterday and continued working on today and the same thing keeps happening. I have to copy it to a new document combine, then paste it back into the document. This is really annoying.
***Ha! I just realized I posted in the Technical Suite Forum. My problem is with Corel Draw X5. I guess this issue isn't exclusive.***
The problem has never been officially acknowledged, as far as I know. When I beta tested I reported it, but it was not reproduceable and then I suppose they can't do anything about it. I usually restart the program and then it works.
So far every object I have tried to combine or weld in this file produces this error. I have restarted the program as well as windows.
I could add the file for someone to test out but it's twice the upload limit.
I have not had any problem with this at all -- I was able to take 3 objects and use all the combining functions without a hitch. and like George said, make sure the itmes are not grouped.

I haev always been able to add .cdr files here no matter the size.
Use one of the large file upload sites... sendthisfile.com or some such... there's lots available and many are free... they usually use email links to the file on their server.

That will be my next move. Thanks.
There seems to be different experiences regarding this matter. My experience is that this very well can affect simple curves that you try to combine or use the Shape tool on. The bigger the drawing grows, the more objects you add and the more layers, and the longer you work on a file - the bigger chance it is that this glitch pops up.
It's great that some of you don't experience this bug, but that really doesn't help in advancing towards a solution. To reach an understanding of what is happening we need to gather facts about when this happens, what seems to trigger it and so on.
I know this is pretty old but this issue still creeps up. Has anyone figured out why this happens?
Still hoping for an answer but I figured out when this happens. I save my files down to version X3 for compatibilty purposes and sometimes what happens is any file on the master layer will not combine. I have to actually move the file to a page layer and perform any combining or trimming etc. and then I can move it back but nothing I do fixes it.
Hello ruckstande; Have you tried it in X6, if not you can email me a file and I'll see how it does.
George ( george@vasigns.net )
No, I don't have X6 and don't plan too. The way X5 has worked out of the box really made me leery about ever upgrading Corel again. Even after all of the updates X5 crashes randomly at least two times a day despite performing all of the default resets and re-installs. I'll send you the file when I have a few minutes. My post really should have been in the Corel Draw X5 forum but this was the only place I could find my issue referenced.
