I don't "import" them. Open with MS Word first, then select all/copy and then in Corel go edit "paste special" and choose "device independent bitmap"

If they will not import direct from word to X6, you can try saving or printing from word to PDF and then import the PDF.

If it is a *.docx file you can change the docx extension to zip and then open it with windows file explorer and in the directory Word>Media you will find all the pictures in their original format.
DOCX files are really just ZIP files same as Corel Draw.
Hope this helps.
Vasan said:1. Change docx to zip – Can I just change the extension from docx to zip ?
You can do that. But if you have to do this regularly, I suggest you get the program 7zip from http://www.7-zip.org/
With that installed, you can right click on any compressed file and open it like a zip, without needing to change the filename first. Once you have done that, you can just go to the media > word folder and drag the images into CorelDraw -- the same as you could have done in windows explorer, but without having to rename the file first (and having to remember to rename it back afterwards).

That bit will only work if you rename the file extension to zip first.
