I am new here and I have a problem with the nik filter. I get the NIK Collection by Google with color Efex Pro 4.  After installing I can open the filter and work. Everything is ok, but I can not save the picture. Is there anyone who can help me?

I know the answer to this....

And yes it does work perfect.....

Under  Nik "Settings", select the dialog box that says "After clicking OK" select "apply the filtered effect to the current layer"

It will now work.

Hi Georg,

I got a link from google to download for free this collection. This was an exe. file - NikCollection_1.007_22671_win_full.exe.  The program creat a folder "Google"  with a subfolder "Nik Collection" under C:\Program Files. Here are the different folder Color Efex Pro 4, Dfine2, HDR Efex Pro2, etc. But I think that was not your question? What do you mean with format?

Hello chris; the format of a file is after the .  CDR is the format of a CorelDRAW file ( anyfile.CDR ) But I would NEVER down load something like you are talking about, to much chance of also getting a lot of things you don't want. A anti virus program stop a lot of places from down loading things to your computer, but if you tell it to let the program install it, it thanks you want it. There are a lot of places that want to know where on the net you go and what you do there, and sell the info.

What do you mean by cannot save the picture.

Is this in the filter, or in Photo-Paint?

If in the filter, is grayed out or just nothing happens?

Hi George, sorry for misunderstanding, But Google is the new owner of nik and offer all customers a free upgrade. I got a mail from google with a link to download this Nik collection. Google has graciously agreed to upgrade all users of previous plug-ins to the entire collection for free. So I got the program.  Do you mean the format of the picture file? I work with .jpg in Photo-Paint.

It´s magic. At the beginning everything is fine - the filter is working perfectly until I click on "OK"  to save the new picture as a new object. Than the plug-in program disapears without any error message.

Ahhhh it was nothing. I spent hours fiddling with it awhile back too and just by chance saw that dialogue box and decided to change it, voila, it started working!
