Hi - I need HELP. Yesterday when I was working with Corel Photo Paint X6 and Corel Draw X5 all of a sudden all my desktop program icons changed to show Corel Draw X6 -- also an .ink extension appeared behind all the program names. (this also happened in my "all programs" list.) Everything I click on takes me to Corel Draw X6. Anyone have any suggestions for me to get things back to normal??? Thanks.
If only certain icons were affected, I would assume a file association error. But assuming you have more than one type of icon on your desktop, it sounds more likely to be a corrupted icon cache.
http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-rebuild-icon-cache-in-windows-7-to-repair-icons/ has some information about doing this.
I think if that does not fix it, the quickest answer would be a windows system restore, to the last restore point before you saw the problem.

I think is not .ink but is .lnk (LNK, for link) That's the normal extension of all shortcus icons on the Desktop, all are links to the original program. FOr some reason, you shouds have change the preferences of WIndows, choosigng "show file extension".
these normal issue when the PC running time after time... and make some service not working properly... rebuild icon cache then restart PC may solved...
