Hi Guys
So i would just like to know, I know that 300dpi is the best for printing but when importing a Jpeg image into Corel, its importing at a much higher dpi so I change it to 300dpi and click print, it does not print nice and clear, looks like a few small thin lines across parts of the image so, is the best then to convert it to a vector - ( PowerTrace to High Quality Image ) or do I need to change the dpi lower or higher or is there something else i need to do for a clear printing result directly from Corel?
Thanks
Olge
You will probably get the best result if you print the image as is. If the resolution at a given size * is extremely high (i.e. there is a large number of pixels compared to the image's width and height) it can sometimes be wise to resample the image to a more modest resolution. 300 dpi is not necessarily "best for printing" but it generally creates a good result. Sometimes, depending on what's in the image and how it is going to be printed and used, the resolution can be lower. * When you import a bitmap into CorelDraw, it will always come in with the same number of pixels as in the original file. If you resize (not resample) the image, the resolution will increase as you make it smaller, and vice versa, but the number of pixels will stay intact. This means that you can resize as many times as you like inside Draw without degradation of the original image. When you resample or convert to bitmap, you create a new image, and if you lower the resolution you also lose information that cannot be recovered.
