Huge problem since the new update, if i go into (edit powerclip) a powerclip and copy anything, then paste into a new document or anywehre else it will crash 100% ive tried it on multiple computers in multiple locations. PLEASE HELP

Hi Guys I am having the a huge problem since the new update, if i go into a powerclip and copy anything, then paste into a new document or anywhere else it will crash 100% ive tried it on multiple computers in multiple locations. This has only happened since the update. I work for a Fairly large design company and this is delaying us greatly! -  i can copy a powerclip as a whole, but if i copy something from inside it (even just the word hello) and then paste it onto a different file, it will crash 100% this is a silly bug that shouldnt be happening, we are supposed to move forward with updates but instead we are going backwards. Im using corel draw x7 with windows 7 operating windows 64bit. Can any one help or text this out for themselves?

  • Hi,

This is a known issue and has already been reported to Corel.

As a temporary workaround, if you save your file before switching document, it won't crash.
  • Hi I'm having the same annoying problem for the past week! It is super frustrating, so I hope they do something about it soon. At least I now know its not just me having issues, because I've uninstalled and re-installed Corel in an attempt to fix the bug!
    • How did that go? did you uninstall and not update? and has it temporarily sorted it? I was thinking of doing the same thing! updates are supposed to put us forward, not set us back!
      • Hi Nick - nope unfortunately still having the same issue. Mine just crashed again for the 20th time today! It is setting us back for sure. I can't copy anything from one file to another - not just in power clips. I just told my designers NOT to update!
        • Mariette! I feel for you! we are having the same issues here, i did a normal copy today and it crashed, then i had multiple tabs open and just clicked on another file, im assuming i had copied something at some point, and yes it crashed again! Such a good program but the crashes just make it as functional as Microsoft Publisher! If we make enough noise hopefully someone at Corel Will listen. They should at least email or put a status alert online warning us about it and telling us they are aware of the programs bugs!
          • We are aware of the issue where a crash will occur changing documents with a PowerClip object selected, however recent posts seem to indicate that crashes are occurring when they are not present.

Could those of you experiencing the issue when PowerClips are not present, please contact me directly (sharon.potts@corel.com)? I would like to get more details about the steps you are taking.

            Sharon
            • An update has been released which addresses this issue (changing documents when PowerClip objects are present).

The update can be downloaded from here: http://www.coreldraw.com/us/pages/patches/8100054.html
