Is there a way to distribute a basic shape along a curve in order to realise a wreath similar to that in below image?If not in Corel X7, with which later version?

I believe I got the theory but the practical part won't work.Step 1 is fine.
Step 2 with new path is not.
Step 3, Blend along full path neither.
What is it I'm missing?
I opened a new document and it worked... very strange.
I'd make it a brush and apply to curved line... oops thats in illustratorafter all these years I dont think i'd ever use the artistic media tool, yukfooey
