CorelDraw Home & Student Suite X7 compatibility with Windows 10

I'd like to buy CorelDraw Home and Student Suite X7.  Is it compatible with Windows 10?  Are other CorelDraw products compatible with Windows 10?

  • Hello hsc2148; These are My THOUGHTS about Windows 10. It is ok for a CELL PHONE, ( BUT NOT any god for graphics programs YET. Go a head and BUY the full ver. you will be a LOT happier in the long run. In My oppugn. It does SO much more, and you can't upgrade the H&S ver.

    • Thanks, TheSignGuy. I appreciate your opinion of Windows 10. I have Windows 10 on my work laptop. Can you you tell me if either the CorelDRAW full version or H&S version will work if I install one of them? Is only the full version compatible? I am not concerned with upgrades unless they pertain to Windows 10 compatibility. Any info you have is appreciated.
      • I have Win10, and have no major issue. CGSX7 works perfectly
If you look at the H&S website, there's a link to a comparison matrix, which lists the "Pro" features, which are not included in H&S - they include "native support for 64bit OS", so I wouldn't expect H&S to work on Win10-64.
Why not download a 30-day trial and see what happens?
        • I just tried installing the trial version of Corel Draw Graphics Suite X7, 64-bit on Windows 10 Professional, 64-bit. The installation works just fine, but neither Corel Draw nor Corel PhotoPaint applications work. As soon as they launch, they close and error off. It is impossible to install any of the available patches (6, 6.1) on the trial version since patches are only for "registered users." My conclusion is that the trial version of CorelDraw Graphics Suite X7, 64 bit is INCOMPATIBLE with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. The (5) patch is supposed to make Corel Draw X7 compatible with Windows 10, but this is impossible to verify with the trial version because it will not accept any patches. Looks to me like Corel painted themselves into a bit of a corner here with Windows 10 users...
      • I have installed the full version of CorelDraw Graphics Suite X7, 64-bit on my Windows 10 64-bit laptop.  Everything works fine.
I originally wanted to buy only the CorelDraw Home & Student version, as it had all the features I needed and was less expensive.  As far as I could tell, the Corel website did not clearly state that the CorelDraw Home & Student version was incompatible with Windows 10.  Further, various blog and forum posts seem to suggest that the Home & Student version is compatible with Windows 10.  However, after I purchased the H&S version and chatted with tech support, I confirmed the H&S X7 version is incompatible with Windows 10.  So I was refunded my H&S purchase and bought the full Graphics Suite X7 instead.

        • I just installed a retail version of Corel Draw Home & Student Suite X7 on Windows 10 Professional 64-bit, v1511 OS Build 10586.36. I think that this is an up-to-date version of Windows 10 Professional 64-bit as of 31Dec15. I purchased this retail version of Corel Draw H&S Suite X7 online from Amazon.

So far, Corel Draw seems to be working just fine. I did not have to install any updates. The Corel H&S X7 version is 17.1.0.572. When I checked for updates, it said that there were none. The installer put it in the \Program Files (x86) directory, so I guess it is running as a 32-bit application. Three applications I installed were: CorelDRAW H&S X7, Corel PHOTO-PAINT H&S X7 and Bitstream Font Navigator. There were options to install a couple of others in the suite, but these wee all I needed.

I had been limping along with CorelDraw 12 (vintage 2003) on Win 10. This version works much better!

Thank you for the info. I will look into this. When I first installed (before later returning) the CD H&S suite on my Win10 system in late Nov 2015, I couldn't even open the application. Tech support also said it was incompatible. But I will continue to research and check compatibility updates.
