Windows unhelpfully displays all CDR files as CorelDRAW X7 Graphic files if that is your active version, even if the file itself is older.
Sometimes it is useful to know the actual version of a CDR file, and you can do that in windows explorer if you go to view > details and turn on the file version column:
To add the file version column to windows explorer:
Right click on one of the existing headers and click on more at the end of the list:
Scroll down the list and add the File Version detail:
Click OK and the file version column should appear.
