It's pretty easy to create custom brushes in Corel PHOTO-PAINT. I use two techniques to make my own custom brushes; either by using a pen tablet to create a drawing, or by scanning or importing an image or photo. After applying some light editing and effects to achieve a suitable look, I use the Mask tool to select the object. In the Nib Properties section of the Brush Settings docker (Window > Dockers > Brush Settings), I can make additional adjustments to the brush as needed.

After I've made a selection with the Mask tool and clicked the Paint tool. I move to the Nib Properties section of the Brush Settings docker, click the Nib Options icon and choose Create From Contents of Mask. In the Create a Custom Brush dialog box, I set the Nib size in pixels and then click OK. The new brush will now instantly be seen in the Nib preview window in the Brush Settings docker.
