In Corel® PHOTO-PAINTTM, select any object (other than the background) and copy it to the clipboard by pressing Ctrl+C. Right-click the same object and click Create Clip Mask > From Object Transparency.
With the clip mask selected (active state is indicated by a red border in the Objects docker), click Edit > Paste > Paste as New Selection. Now you have the darker areas of the object transparent and the lighter areas opaque. By the way, this is also a useful method for creating your own brush nibs.

Well I managed to save it next will be how will I use it
Mo can you give us an example on how to use it.
Thank you
useful... nice tip!!!
@ Mike: the difference to Edit > Paste > Paste as New Object is that you have the object pasted from the clipboard available as mask, rather than as new object. The greyscale information of the clipboard content is processed as alpha (opacity) information. Quite useful, I use it a lot to quickly cut out objects based on their light and dark values.
What is the point of: Edit > Paste > Paste as New Selection.?
