I'm trying to import an Illustrator file into Corel. However all of the groups become ungrouped when I import.

I found another AI file that has groups and imports them fine into Corel. I just don't know what the difference between this AI file and the other file that can open correctly.

I'm trying to do the same thing and the answer is NO everything is on one layer.
Try to Open (via dialog) instead of importing the file.I believe it will make a difference.Edit: Don't forget to check "Maintain layers and pages" in the dialog.
