I am trying to apply a screen to a bitmap in Corel 2020. I've followed the instructions provided by the help center, but when I get to the "Edit fill" dialog box & select a spot color palette from the list box, the next step is supposed to "Click Postscript options dialog box". I can't find the box. The closest I get is "Postscript fill" which isn't wat I need. Does anybody know how to apply a screen to a bitmap?
Thanks!
Not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve, but the help file doesn't seem to be correct no matter what.Do you mean halftone pattern perhaps? Can you give us a little more details, please?
Yes, halftone pattern. Thanks
And you are trying to create these halftone dots inside Draw 2020?There are three ways that I can think of right now but I'm not sure any of them will do exactly what you want:1. Convert the bitmap image into a black and white bitmap.Bitmaps > Mode > Black and White (1-bit)...Select "Halftone" conversion method and suitable screen type, angle and line frequency.2. Change bitmap color mode to Grayscale.Bitmaps > Mode > Grayscale (8-bit)Add a Halftone effect from Effects > Color Transform > Halftone...3. Create a vector halftone pattern with the Pointillizer.Change bitmap color mode to Grayscale.Go to Effects > Pointillizer to open the docker (there are other ways to open it, as you probably know).Select "Size modulation 2 (luminosity)" tracking method and adjust the settings.Apply.This is a really cool effect but be careful when you adjust the settings because too heavy calculations may cause Draw to choke and crash.
Thanks for the suggestions. I think #1 will work for my project! I'm impressed by how quick your answers were. Thanks again.
You're welcome, I'm glad I could help.BTW, you can easily give a 1-bit bitmap any color you like in Draw, if you want.Simply left or right click any color in a palette, including the no color (transparent) swatch.
