Find & Replace tool doesn't work at all... nothing, zero. It always returns "No object found" regardless of the search / replace parameters you set.
This is happening on an ORIGINAL installation of CorelDraw 2021 - 64 BIT - WINDOWS 10
This is a HUGE PROBLEM and BUG... how can this be real ?
Do you ( COREL ) really have put on the market a new major version of your flagship graphic software with such a SERIOUS and HUGE BUG ? Seriously ?
We use it for heavy production tasks and we're currently stuck with it. This is super disappointing...
Waiting for urgent feedback, thanks.
Alex
Since Jeff Harrison's Select Same tool doesn't work with 2021 (hoping it gets updated, it's one of those "must have" utilities) I poked around in the Search & Replace docker. It can (for me) find objects but you have to manually edit the query first. So maybe that's the issue you're getting? If you just want to find objects like the current selected object, select "Find Objects" at the top drop down, then hit the "Selection" button to load the properties of the object and then hit the "Edit Query" button to select options for what you want to find. It seemed to work for me then, finding all objects with my selected parameters on the page. A replace also seemed to work as well, it's just there are a few extra steps involved and I'd really just rather have the Select Same macro back.
Thank you very much for your answer and for trying to help. We use the FIND & REPLACE tool for mainly converting COLOR MODEL on objects fillings and outlines... we work with files that have thousands objects... and it's mandatory to us being able to SEARCH for a color mode, let's say "RGB" and convert it to "CMYK"...... and viceversa. And right now, this isn't working at all.... not even creating the search query manually :-( We think COREL did a very bad and unrespectful thing to their users, publishing a MAJOR RELEASE like this like if it was an ALPHA or BETA release with these serious bugs!
I just uninstalled everything, manually cleaning perfectly the system and reinstalled COREL from scratch. Now the "FIND & REPLACE" tool seems to work better..... hmmm. Well, let's hope it will continue this way.
arghhhhhhhhhh, damn it............... it's NOT working at all, again. Is it possible ?!? No one else uses the Find & Replace tool out here ? It's fundamental to us :-(
alexdex, could you please provide more information? I have not been able to duplicate this issue, given the information posted.Detailed steps, along with a sample file or video would be helpful.Thank you,Sharon
