Hello lovely people. I've just gone through a painful reinstall of CoreDraw 2021 on my work computer. It was not launching, and then it wouldn't reinstall . . . IT was on the line with Corel support for 4 hours before I was able to run the program again (I was watching).
I've managed to reinstate all my workspaces and preferences, but am bereft of some macros in gms format that I had been relying on. I saved them in a safe place before the reinstall, then put them back into the proper GMS folder where they resided before the reinstall, but alas, they are not showing on my docker. What's going on? I put them in C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2021\Draw\GMS I've also tried them here: C:\Program Files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2021\Draw\GMS
C:\Program Files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2021\Draw\GMS
gms file is launched by Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). When you installed Corel, you did not install VBA. Try again.VSTA and Java can also be used to write macros, but they are different programming languages with a different syntax than VBA. gms file will not be read by neither VSTA no Java
Thank you for your reply. That's exactly right. IT and Corel Support were both trying to get Core to load on a reinstall and it kept getting kicked out. I do remember that the solution was to untick the "VBA" box on install so the program would load, so it's not there. (I should have figured that out).
My worry about doing a repair to include the VBA is that it will mess up the works. So I'm going to just not use them -- BUT does anyone know a way to convert gms to java? (I hope, I hope?)
It's been a couple of weeks. I have not been able to reinstall the VBA (multiple crashes, too much time taken up with IT and Support) So I am trying to live without my scripts. Today I wanted to just record a simple macro and discovered Corel won't let me do that either! The OK button is greyed out, and won't allow me to start recording.
