I'm membership secretary for my club and am trying to create a step by step "How to join" guide.I need to put in an email link to my club/membership address but it's not working. Every time I create the link in CorelDraw Standard 2021 the link it creates seems to direct towards an address on my pc rather than the email address. It does this whether I put mailto: at the start or not. There has to be a way so what am I doing wrong, please?
Hello,I can't clearly understand the problem. Please explain in more detail what and how you are doing, what you want to happen and if possible give an illustration, screenshots.....Greetings!
Thanks for the interest. As often happens, now that I'm trying to re-create the issue it isn't happening - the link is working as it should!Ironically, I was making a step by step instruction sheet to PDF on how to do some thing - join our club. The only way members can join now is online via a system used by our national governing body. This time last year they changed to a completely new system and, without going into details, not only was the system less than ideal, so was the way they introduced it. It was supposed to be intuitive and user-friendly. It possibly was - to the developer/s who put it together! To others, especially non-computer people, not so much. Many members ad - and still do have - problems trying to work out what should have been a simple process, hence making the PDF. It was a single, very simple A4 page: Title & logo > paragraph text block > screenshot > next paragraph text block > screenshot > and so on, finishing with an "if you're still having trouble" section with our club email address on. Literally, it was the full email address which was then made into a hyperlink.Sometimes when I tried it, I'd get the proper working link, other times it was what I think was the hard drive address of the document. In the end, as the address was visible anyway, I simply left it as it was - those for whom it didn't work could easily copy & paste it.I'm not certain but I think the problem may have been whether there was a space after the colon in the mailto: part.I should mention that I've used various versions of Corel and other vector programs for 30+ years as an engraver. However, that didn't involve adding hyperlinks, so that part I'm new at. Also, I was previously using the full program (latterly X7) whereas now that I'm on Win11, I've had to change to the slightly different Standard 2021.Again, thanks for the interest. If there's anything you can suggest from the above please let me know otherwise, frankly, we have so many other issues with the new system that this is relatively minor! It was just puzzling - and slightly annoying - at the time.
