I am pretty new to CorelDraw. I do not use it much. I have a series of squares and want to color each one a different color. I am unable to fill at all any color. I created 2 tables and over lapped them and deleted some lines. I can say use the square tool and fill with a color but I cannot do this with the table I created. Question: What can I do to fix this? I only created a table to create the squares. There must be a better way to do the layout : )

Not sure exactly what you've done but using tables doesn't feel like the best way to create a "series of squares".I think that even if you convert the Table to curves, you will end up with a bunch of straight lines and not real squares (Rectangles).An object must be closed if you want to add a fill, meaning that all nodes and segments must be properly connected.You can use the Smart fill tool to fill an enclosed area, even if the surrounding segments aren't connected, but the Smart fill tool will then create a new closed object that looks like the enclosed area, and maybe you need to delete the original objects (lines) afterwards.To create a grid of squares: Create one square with the Rectangle tool, duplicate it and move it to the correct position. Repeat.
By the way, you can use the Step and Repeat docker to create copies.

Update. It took just a few minutes and I recreated it.... I earlier changed the size of the initial square using the toolbar after selecting the square. I just need to align all the squares. I am using the lines you drag out from the rulers then using Nudge. I need to snap the squares to them somehow. Right now I am nudging the squares to the guidelines and adjusting the widths of the guidelines spacing using the docker / toolbar.Window> Docker> Guidelines
The Step and Repeat made it easy for the 9 squares then I used the rectangle tool to create the larger square that surrounds the smaller ones. I can group and ungroup all.
Glad you found it helpful.FWIW, here's how I would create a set of 3x3 rectangles:Make sure Snap to Objects and Show Snap Location Marks are both enabled (Options > CorelDRAW > Snapping).Draw the first rectangle/square.Grab the left edge and pull the rectangle to the right until it snaps to the right edge.While dragging, press and hold the Ctrl (or Shift) key to constrain the movement.While dragging you shall also click the right mouse button once, to create a copy.Without deselecting, press Ctrl+D. This will create another copy and move it the same distance.(You can repeat Ctrl+D as many times as you like)Select all three rectangles and grab the bottom edge, move them upwards until they snap to the top edge, press and hold Ctrl to constrain, and right click once to copy.Ctrl+D to create additional copies.This may sound very complicated but when you understand how it works, you can create these rectangles in seconds (takes me less than ten seconds), all perfectly aligned to each other.Play with it, you'll learn a lot while practicing. :-)
