Big problem for those who work with Coreldraw 2024 cdr files. By opening a Coreldraw file of any date, the creation date and not just the modification date will be changed to the save date. A serious problem because it will not be possible to trace the creation date of the file. Coreldraw support has remotely try to resolve the issue, but they have not been able to figure out how to fix it at this time. The problem is also on other computers and therefore does not depend on errors external to the Coreldraw software. Here the problem
Why is this such a big problem?
For my workflow is a problem. I need to know when a job was created in what month and year for many of my clients. My workflow requires it. There are often works that have been modified over time and I often have to see the last work how and when it was created.
This must have been a problem for many years as no version of Draw I have loaded loads the info into Windows properly, we tried a software a couple times but stuck with our job bags. They worked every time.
This problem however is only with the current version. With Coreldraw x8 and earlier I have never had this problem. I asked support to see if it's possible to resolve it.
Well the new release is about to happen.
I simply add the creation date at the end of the file title like this.
"SFO...PWR CALLOUTS - (AUG 31 2023).cdr
Then it doesn't matter what CorelDRAW does it's clear when the file was created.
If there is a revision that is added
"SFO...PWR CALLOUTS - REV 1 - 01-15-2024 - (AUG 31 2023).cdr
Works for us with our large project ongoing since 2019
We tried software to track job times and file dates but some of them interfered with the applications, nothing worked as well as just keeping track on the job bag.
