Why not write a backup to the selected sub dir "backup"?. Instead, writes CD to the location where the file is located orginal
This gives the "problems" when original file must be opened because I have to pass all the backup files before the original file comes. OK if the original file starts with "A" so it is not a problem because a comes before b.
choice of "save" in settings ... Have screen image, but can not get it in this message?
I do not know if this is a bug or just a point for a change?
On my opinion the backup feature needs to go. Windows has a built in backup and an external drive is cheap. I turn the back up off.
Maybe you misunderstand me.
Corel Draw make a backup of the file you're working with when you save the file.
It is this backup file I would expect to be saved in a sub dir instead of in the dir where the file is stored.

Banner til firma.cdr -----> The file you are working with. Saving for example c: \ save \, but the backup file is stored same place!
Once you have angled to Corel Draw to make a backup file on save, so you get this file;
Backup_of_Banner til firma.cdr ----> These backup files I want to save in a sub dir for themselves
Hello Frank; The Back Up's can be handy if you need to work on a file that is before the last saved file ( With out last changes.) and most of the time people don't want that file, they want the last one that was edited. But if the last file for some reason won't open it can give you a place to work from without rebuilding the hole file again. You can pick where you want the Auto Save to go as the screen shot below. It is a feature you can use or not depending on how you need to work.

No, this function you show is only to make a temp file, this file is deleted when you close corel draw home & student 2014.
1: Here is Auto backup, but it's a temp file generated. for example each 10 minutes. (AUTOBACKUP_OF_GRAGE FYRRUM.CDR) This file is automatically deleted when you close the file in corel drawt
2: Select here to make a backup file when the file is saved, but it is not saved in the backup dir but in the same dir as the file itself.
Corel Draw to make this point to select backup location:
Yes Frank I THINK that one is for if you lose power while working it will ask if you want to open the file when you restart CorelDRAW, the H&S is different than the regular ver. Almost all of us that use Corel for a living use the reg. ver. We use Ctrl+s a lot while working, you can get a lot of work done in 10 min.. When I start drawing I give the file a name and save it with Save As and put it where I want it to be saved that way the Ctrl+s over rites that file a fast computer doesn't even hardly slow down.
I'm with you Frank. It seems silly to store a backup in the same folder as the original.
