I just heard about something call High Dynamic Range imaging (HDR), but I don't see it listed as a feature in PhotoPaint X4.
HDR Photo Merge is listed as a new feature in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.
Can PhotoPaint X4 be used for HDR images?
Foster addressed this in his recent news letter. He has a link to a short tutorial about the subject. Foster stated that the tutorial was done with PS but saw nothing that couldnt be done in PP.
Here is the link to Fosters Article

You can certainly make HDR images in PP, but it has not got an automated HDR merge function like PS. Anyway I don't know how much you can control the HR merge in PS.
I've been playing a bit with Photomatix Basic from http://www.hdrsoft.com/download.html -- it would be really cool to have an HDR mapping function in the next photopaint.
There should also be features to correct purple fringing and barrel distortion IMO. These are common problems...

I would trade the current RAW processor for a HDR feature!
