I just had a look at Corel Connect. I can't find a way to have it display anything other than thumbnails. I tried to drag and drop a file into an open Draw document and a number one appeared in a blue circle, but no file. Not liking it.
I have been using Thumbsplus 8 but that doesn't display X5 and X6 thumbnails properly. Can anyone suggest any alternatives? Search and display are key features for me. Being able to display different file types is essential. Thanks.
I haven't tried Thumbs Plus 8 but 7 displays perfect thumbnails of all CorelDraw files and cmx files.
Right click on a cdr file in TP, select Configure type.
Change Load File Using to : OLE and the combo box to the right of it to CorelDraw.Graphic.16.
Now you can get thumbnails as big as you like with superb resolution.
Also as Adrian suggests, Mystic Thumbs does a great job of displaying embedded thumbnails. I got it to show .psd thumbnails in windows explorer but it does a great job of .cdr's and pdf's.
Thanks Hywel, I did as you suggested and could get thumbnails. Out of interest what size thumbnails do you use? I use 96 dpi. This gives me the thumbnail size I want but the preview for CDR files is very small. Other file types fill up the preview window but not CDR ones.
