Hi
Is there any way to know which font used in CorelDRAW ?
I have windows 7 operating system and all fonts installed is up to 3000 fonts I want to remove unwanted fonts from my system.
Pls Help Me.
if you want to know what fonts are used on one file, you can see this under File menu/Document properties. Also you can select the file under Windows Explorer, and with the secondary mouse button choose "Properties" and see the "Details" tab.
3.000 installed font is too much for Windows, you should have less than 400 installed. Open FontNavigator and unistall unused fonts. Go to File / find fonts for refresh fonts database. You don't need to have all fonts installed, next time you open a file, if you need one or more fonts the program will prompt for auto-install fonts (temporary while the file is open or permanent). On newest versions of CorelDRAW you even need to install font for use it, the fonts will be available without install it
Thanks Ariel
But I want to remove unwanted fonts from my system there is 3000 fonts in my system how do I know which font used in Coreldraw ? its impossible to check each corel file, I want to remove those fonts which not used in coreldraw file.
Corel Draw uses what ever fonts are installed. Font not installed, Corel doesn't use it.
Corel Draw FILES can have fonts that are not installed. The font has to be installed in order to create the file with the font in the first place. If the font is removed later, then opening the file will cause a substitution for another font.
If you want to make sure the fonts your files are using stay on the system, you have to identify them. This means looking at each file. You have to check each file. Doing these one at time would be tedious at best. There may be a way to look at each file progromatically.
What I was suggesting, is use Windows Explorer to find all CDR files. Tell it to add the column for "Fonts used." then sort by "Fonts used." This will at list give you list to look at. There is probably some way with a VBA script, PowerShell, or the Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line to search for all the files and spit out the results for the Fonts used metadata to a text file. You would need a Windows PowerShell guru or some one like that to come up with some code.
However, just take the fonts out of the system you don't want. So what if they are in a file? When you open the file in CorelDraw, it tells you the font is missing and its name. When that happens you can just add the font back to the system. You might have some files you don't open for another few years. Easier to just add them back when needed.
If you move the fonts to a non system folder and point the Font Manager to that folder, when Corel opens a file with a missing font, it will probably identity it automatically and offer to install it.
