I cannot make changes to a .cdr file created in Corel Draw X5 using CorelDraw X6. When I open the file there is an error message - 'Update text - To access newer features, text must be updated'.
As a fairly new user of Corel Draw I'm not sure if the issue I'm having is related to file compatibility or if I can't edit the drawing because it has been drawn on a layer that I cannot access. The original creator of the file has assured me there is no 'lock' on the file.
The "Update text" message doesn't cause block the file. Just allows you to use newest options (not available on X5) or not, but on both situations you should edit the text.
The problem could be for another reason: a locked layer, a text style. etc
