Hi all
Can anyone help me with this problem please? I've upgraded to CorelDraw X6 but I need the files I make to be openable in Coreldraw 10. When saving I use the drop down box and choose the option for 10 and if they are opened again in X6 before they are opened in 10 they are fine, but when these files are opened in 10 they crash and the file gets wiped (when opened again it's just a blank page).
Is there something I am missing? A not so obvious box that needs ticking? An option I have missed somewhere?
Is it because the version i have is 64bit? Or is it just not possible to downsave files properly anymore, is 10 just too old now?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes, I'll just go tell my boss that he has wasted his money trying to keep at least one PC up to date instead of "We have a problem but I'm trying to fix it". Not helpful but thanks anyway.
Actually, apart from this quite major problem, it's actually been a lot better than X5 for me and what we use it for :)
Hello Lewis; Why not try back saving to something like Ver 7 and see if that works. ( I thought ver. 10 was a poor program, ver. 11 worked better. )

Ok I'll try that George, thank you.
Unfortunately when I started here they were on 10 and didn't look to upgrade until X5 came around. Only a couple of PCs were upgraded and recently my X5 was upgraded to X6. I don't think there are any plans to upgrade everyone from 10 at the moment and considering how long it took just to get mine upgraded I think my best option is to try to find a solution to the down saving issue. I very much doubt my boss is going to like learning that he may have paid out for a program we can't use.
The thing is that I do like X6, there are quite a few little changes that work well for what we do, I'd rather not go back to X5 if I can help it.

It seems to have worked!
So to open a down saved X6 file in 10 it needs to be saved as version 7.
Genius.
But it works :D
Thank you very much George!
Hello Lewis; I'm glad it worked. I have had to send files to clients from X4 and I had to send them as Ver.7 to get them to work. When I read your post I took it that you were going from Ver. 10 to X6 on the same computer, because you were doing something in 10 that you were not up to speed on in X6. It's funny how the mines eye sees things sometime, and if they gave me more than a 6 pack for breakfast I wouldn't have that problem!!!!!!
Best Regards, George
