This has yet to be confirmed, but here is what I *think* is happening.
If a macro modifies the DRAWUI.XML (like the EZ Metrics plugin) to add the something to the workspace, then the Update will see that the file was modified since it was installed and skip over updating it. Given the old Align and Distribute dialog was removed entirely from the workspace, and a new item added, it means that the menu now shows no entry for Align and Distribute.
Something similar happened in X5, again, with one macro. All other macros and 3rd party solutions worked fine.

Re: X6.1 Update > CGSX6 64-bit + additional installation of 32-bit Photo-Paint for plugin compatibility
Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Result: no Align/Distribute docker, as described in other posts.
Don't have time for troubleshooting this bomb; reverted to Acronis system image made just prior to running the update and all is well again. But, unfortunate implications for running an eventual updated update Vis-à-vis 'membership' thing?
This update makes me feel like a guinea pig — shouldn't such an obvious fault have been caught in beta testing? … First, do no harm!

P.S. My installation of X6 does not have the 'EZ Metrics' plugin Tony mentions above. On the other hand I do have a small number of macros for which I have added buttons on toolbars — including custom toolbars — as well as corresponding custom icons derived from independent files … sounds like "add[ing] something to the workspace", in Tony's words.

This is funny to me, because I did something like this on my own back in X3.
Thanks for the warning Foster. I'm happy where I am right now, so I'm not upgrading to .1 just yet.
Also, for ANYONE who has the font issue with italics, bold and normal, I swear on all that is holy try Nexus font, put only the fonts required in your windows font folder, put all the rest in a separate, local directory, and point Nexus at it. Unless you have 100,000 fonts you'll be fine. IN FACT if Corel does fix Bitstream I can't imagine me switching back. I have had no font errors since I installed Nexus. About the only thing that would make me happy is if CorelDraw bought or partnered with Nexus to fix the problem.

Mike, Foster has some strange issues which are partly due to bad third party software. I'm not sure about his text on path issue, but as you've seen, others are not having the same problem.
Upgrading is well worth it. There are hundreds of bug fixes. The stability has been improved and there are many performance improvements. I've been using the upgrade for a while now, and I wouldn't be able to go back.
