Hi! Last week after Corel Draw X7 (64 bit) update some fonts are totally scrambled up.
When I start a new text with the default Arial font all I get is gibberish.
I thought the problem might be with Arial, but after I type and get the gibberish, I can select Arial on the list and get the text right.
So, it is not the font apparently.
And this happened after the update.
Does anyone has any suggestion? I know It is not a major problem, but it is an annoying thing to live with.
Thanks!
Melissa
As for Gioviale, is it the cut off ascenders/descenders on the page?
If so, that's been reported, er, a few times. As far as I have experienced, it does export to PDF properly.
You'll note that MS' font Gabriola doesn't suffer the display issue. The reason for this is the amount of space the font designers put in for the distance between the ascender and descender values. Microsoft's designer put in a value large enough to fully display the full characters. Which is why if you use it in multi-lines, the distance is so large between baselines. Laura does what I and others do, which is to use a low enough value one can have interplay between the descenders on one line and the ascenders on the next line.
CorelDraw is only reading the total between WinAscent and WinDescent (the technical names for this) and clipping the display outside those values. I don't think there will be a quick fix for this. I think it is something that will take a bit of time as it is going to poke more deeply into the code in CD.
