Now I can say that I hate Corel... Spent two days of my life just trying to install INSTALL!!!
Got a notebook with illegal copy of X7 on it. I have a fresh license of X8 (which eats HDD - another thread posted about this!) and old license of X6. Decided to install old X6 on this NB.
Two days with no success! Any ideas? Any special cleanup program???I did everything - uninstalling, cleaning by Revo Uninstall, cleaning the registery, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning - endless cleaning.
Uninstalling all other applications - shell extensions, MS Visio C++ all versions. Tried EVERYTHING but still "another version is already installed".
What to do???

I have installed and uninstalled countless different versions of Draw over the years (probably more than any average user since I have been a beta tester for many years) and have not had any major problems.I remember there was a time when an extra cleanup utility was needed but don't remember when it was, what version, or what it did. Might have been a Microsoft utility?Anyway, glad you got it solved.
Finally I've got the result by doing two processes, have no idea which one was the final, because I had no time to make it one by one and I did it at the same time.
FIRST: Although in Control Panel it was no tracks of Corel at all, downloaded Windows official "problem programs"removal tool ( link ) displayed about TWENTY different Corel tools and programs "installed"... And it was not that X7 but official X6 I was trying to install. That tool it very basic, so you need to launch it again and again and do all steps for every line you wish to remove... So I did it 20 times and got a clear list. BTW it was also Visual C++ "installed" so I waste it also...
SECOND: I found another "installed" software with blind name "licensing service" and after short examination I found that Protexis licensing service is deep in the system, in two variations, and I've delete it after two reboots (to erase all tracks in a registry also using CCleaner)... And finally it works! I think, that the problem was the installation SMALLER version of Corel, because on my second NB, where I've installed several times my second Corel, X8, it was almost fine and only thing was needed to remove manually C++ component.
