Interactive Gradient PICKER Tool!

Here's the features I would like to see in an enhanced color picker tool.

Most importantly, the "Other..." button to be replaced with a click+drag eyedropper tool, just like I've seen in Fireworks and Flash. Or even what Photoshop has where you can just click any color on the screen at that point. Currently (if I'm not mistaken) it's impossible to create a gradient fill based on existing colors unless you memorize or jot down the color values before jumping into the gradient fill dialog box. Might have to get rid of the modal concept for this one.
If the above is too difficult, how about an actual Interactive Gradient PICKER Tool? I don't think I need to explain how it would work, as you've already demonstrated that you know how to make interactive tools awesome!
Or how 'bout both? I don't want to be limited to just 2-color gradients with these tools so please make sure they are fully featured. The best tool would even reverse engineer a gradient in a bitmap. Radial, linear or however the gradient was produced.

Isn't it the same as selecting the shape with the gradient fill > Right Clicking on it and dragging it to the shape you want the fill to be copied to?

No. It's not the same thing. Let me try to explain.

Suppose you had two shapes, one with some kind of blue solid fill and another with some kind of red fill, but you have a 3rd shape that you want to have a *gradient* fill that transitions from the blue to the red. You can't just right-click-drag to achieve this effect.

2 ways:

1. You can use the color docker to hold a sampled color, then drag to interactive fill swatch line. see video.

2. use the macro in this commercial package to make a gradient automatically from a selection of filled shapes.

Here's the macro way. So easy... select shapes, run macro (I set a hotkey) then pick a shape to assemble the gradient into.

Thank you! This is an effective solution; though, I still think it's worthy of a feature request.

The macro looks great as well, but I'm going to be cheap and use the free method.
