Yes, it's time to think about the next version. Please, try to be specific
I have mentioned this simple option in X6 wishlist, but I really hope that it will be added in future versions:
My wish for future versions of Corel is to create "Paste in view" option with correspondent shortcut.
That means that when we want to paste somethink from clipboard, that content shoud be placed in center of current view, instead of placing content at the center of a page.
Simple, but could be very useful.
Milanche - I totally agree. That is so annoying - to have to search all over for the object after you've pasted it.
ON that note, surely operations have a time stamp somewhere. Wouldn't it be nice to have a WayBack machine that highlighted objects that were subject to any set of chosen operations, so you could see at a glance or in a few seconds the path of progress on some project. The highlights for changes might somehow be like onion skin as used in traditional animation.
I would request that Corel fix or upgrade the path operations so that "trim" works on any art. I've thrown about 20 pieces of random clipart into CorelDraw, selected trim and it failed 100% of the time. In some cases it worked somewhat after various fiddling and trying different things. Some never worked at all. That seems like something that really needs to be addressed. The same files trimmed perfectly in Illustrator, 100% on very first attempt. I came across an old thread where a Corel employee talked about winding rule and this not being a bug because Corel couldn't determine the intentions of the user. Sounds good I guess, but then Adobe somehow gets this right. By the way, Xara, Serif DrawPlus, and Inkscape also have a perfect 100% fail on these random files.
And while we're considering the idea of paste-in-view, what about defining page areas and grouping them so that one could paste into a sequence of areas in a zoomed out state and then zoom in to tweak them without worrying about missing one. Various options are worth considering. Selecting a sequence by sequentially selecting, or horizontally or vertically. Independent labeled groupings would allow all member areas of a area sequence to be targeted with a paste into each one of them at one click, not just one at a time. Deluxe Paint could tile images in 3D perspective. No good reason not to use a horizon and vanishing point(s) to auto-size a tiled fill into multiple objects in an arbitrary group.BTW, I keep getting pop-up on load COREL ads for some add-on technical drawing suite that apparently syncs with DRAW. I think that this is a bad move - separating capabilities the way that Adobe does. A beauty of DRAW suite is that you don't find that you need to buy more and more additional stuff. I don't mind the ads, BTW, even though the sale ended last month...
