There's so much obsolete, useless und cumbersome functionality in CorelDRAW Graphics suite. Can you please revise all the old functionality and bring it to up-to-date standards?
Examples:
(a) CorelDRAW patterns: Why is the result so much diverging from the original?
(b) PhotoPAINT mesh: Why is it impossible to zoom into the selected area? Why aren't you providing something like the PhotoShop Liquid filter?
(c) PhotoPAINT masks: Why isn't there an undo functionality for added mask points while creating a free mask?
(d) CorelDRAW patterns #2: Why on earth is 25.4 mm * 2.54 mm the smallest pattern size?
(e) CorelDRAW patterns #3: Why is there always a glitch for 20 years now when rendering a pattern (or converting it into a bitmap)?
(f) PhotoPAINT: Why does the File Save dialog always display a text field as if it had focus - when it actually hasn't?

I believe your perception is based on your limited use of the application rather then reality. Most users only use about 15% of the application.
Phil I've said this 1000 times PP is an image editing utility for CorelDRAW IMO that is all it's intended to be. It provides the LAB, N color and postscript raster support CorelDRAW requires for proper output. Corel would be stupid to make it compete with Painter and Paintshop Pro.
CorelDRAW continues marching forward with professional features, in many cases forsaking the hobbies feature set it used to support.
Phil I offer professional help with areas where I am a professional. The new tools like cutout, image straighten, open type and older tools like transparency, powerclip and contour have been updated and are relevant to my profession.
Extrude, I have no use for, I know people complain about it but I have no use for it. Photo-PAINT has all I need for print output, if I need other image features I use Paintshop Pro, the new release is stable and useful.
I do create big signs, large donor walls, large and small engravings, monument signs, window graphics, vehicle wraps, vehicle lettering, table cloths, art prints, business cards, brochures, pocket folders and many other graphics. What else would I do with CorelDRAW, sit around and play with myself? I use it to make money, I have a profession not a hobby.
I DO NOT use a significant amount of customization because every new cycle it is the MAIN SOURCE of interface issues and crashes so a smart person has a choice, worry about customization or make money.

Bollocks has Contour been updated. Oh yes we got an interactive contour tool, based on the flawed limited power of the original tool. I have a list somewhere of what I wanted to see in Contours.
David you are approaching this from your business standpoint of outputting artwork, not artwork creation ( a generalisation but essentially true). I actually use contours and they desperately need an upgrade. Extrude, Bevel, Artistic MEdia, Smart Fill, Perspective, etc etc all need some new inspirational new functionality. I couldn't have cared less about the Colour management upgrade that Corel gave us in X6. I also couldn't care less about the UI update. The tools for creating artwork in Draw have been left far too long with nothing substantive added. When we do get new functionality (like Smart Fill, Edit Fill) its p**s poor. When we got an upgrade to MEsh fills a short while back, it was a half hearted attempt at staying current. Even the updated node selection tools are rubbish and buggy . The Shape Tool needs a makeover, hell even the Pick Tool could do with some help.
The creative side of Draw has been left untouched for far too long.
I do not disagree that tools need improvement nor that we all approach the topic from our own points of view. My point of view is that I MAKE MONEY, graphics is how I make money, I'm not a hobbyist. Most of my projects include Draw files implemented with artisans from 2 or 3 disciplines, It's like herding autistic cats.
With that said Corel has had to invest in the core technologies in an environment that went from XP to Windows 10 in I believe 3 cycles. Not an excuse just fact and as I said in a previous post now that MS has (hopefully) settled in for a stable period we can see some development in tool sets that will actually work in output.
With this said as you know I'm one of the few on this forum that has access to and outputs to a multitude of high end devices. Currently Illustrator CC is in a state that even in workflows such as Prinergy (the Rolls Royce of output work flows) is having to rasterize files before output. I believe due to new features that don't work and or a lack of training.Clients that I have worked with for 20 years in both Corel and Adobe have to pick and choose where they use AI.
I don't want this to happen in Corel, currently in my 3 RIPS Corel output of complex files exceeds Adobe CC, in my over 20 years using Corel this is a first, this is something to build on.
On the tool development where do they go? Your revision of contour if implemented completely may be all that can be accomplished, if done correctly in one cycle. Let alone the guy that wants to be able to customize how you customize and then the features the hobbyists want that are in programs that neither they nor the programs don't care about compliance with the ICC or postscript and will only output properly low res to desktop printers.
Ariel hit it on the head we need to do a better job at support. If someone owns CD and has color management issues a one click resource needs to be available to study. If someone has CorelDRAW and thinks they need Inkscape on MS Publisher to make a little newsletter shame on us, all they need is a resource for training not some other program.
You look at it from your workflow which you have had many years of experience and I believe due to that experience needs serious consideration. However to run out willy nilly and add features from upstart non compliant applications IMO requires a much more mature conservative approach.
