hey guys.. do any body know that how to fix thumbnail problem. i hate this that some files are shown and some r not shwon ... have a look at the image below.
Go to control panel > programs and features and look for Corel Graphics -- Windows Shell Extension. It should have a version number 17.0.0.491.
If you have a shell extension with version 16.x or earlier, uninstall it and do a repair install of X7.
I have the correct Extension version, so that does not work for me.
I did uninstall X6 after installing X7 except for "CorelDraw Graphics Suite X6 - Content which remains, if that gives you added information for a solution. All are 64-bit.
Bring up your Windows Explorer and navigate to a *.cdr file. See what program is associated with the CDR files. If not X7 DRAW, then set that as your default program to open those files.

It may still be advisable to run a repair installation of X7 to ensure that the X6 uninstallation did not remove any settings which X7 requires.
What do you have for the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.cdr\ShellNew and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.cdr\ShellNew ? Are they CorelDraw.Graphic.17 ? And do you know what version of CorelDraw created the files with the missing items?
I had to do fix my icons as well. Here's instructions on a Wiki article, which I edited to include X7:
Thumbnails not showing in Windows Explorer after installing CDGS X6/X7

Ah, you may have found the answer (all other solutions here have not worked for me).
For: HKEY.CLASSES_ROOT\cdr\ShellNew - I have CorelDRAW.Graphic.16
For HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\cdr\ShellNew - I have CorelDRAW.Graphic.17
I am a bit leery about making changes to the registry, but it the solution as simple as manually modifying the first to the number 17?
Thanks of your help with this.
Well, I edited the registry and it did not fix the problem.
As I mentioned above, I remember this same problem occurring a few years ago and then suddenly Corel had it fixed with an update. Does this seem likely again? If so, I will just wait.
