closing x7 and color management

With regards to the inability to close the program, are you clicking the Save button more than once? If saving a large file, it is possible that the button does not refresh immediately. There are cases where hitting the save button more than once during a save will cause the background process to fail.

Please try with a simple file, containing just a rectangle. Click the Save button, enter a filename and click Save. Add a new object, then click the Save button, ensuring you just click it once on the property bar. After the save completes, close the document / application. Does this work?

If the issue persists, please try disabling background tasks in Tools, Options, Global and repeat.
