Hello CorelDraw Experts,
I would like to start learning and working with macros. It said in Corel Help that I need a Microsoft Visual Studio 2012. What Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 do I need and where do I get it? There are so many apps and I am not sure which one to download. Could someone please point me to a link?
I use CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7. I found a tutorial on the Internet but when I go to Tools - Macros - Start Recording, I can not Save Macros, the area in the window is blank.
I wrote to Corel technical support but the answer was: "... we do not have support regarding MACROS because that is out of our scope. However, I would like you to refer on our forums and ask our experts there..."
So where do I start? Could someone direct me, please?
Thank you in advance.
Run CorelDRAW and pres Alt-F11. If the VBA is installed, then the window of VBA-environment will appear. There you can write your own macros
Hi shark_,
Nothing happens when I press Att+F11. Here is how my screen looks when I go to Tools → Macros → VSTA Editor.
And when I go to Tools → Macros → Start Recording the Windows where I supposed to save it is blank:
Macro Manager should show two items: Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Perhaps, you need to reinstall the VBA component
How do I reinstall the VBA component? Where I get it from?

You might try running the Setup for CorelDRAW and using "Modify".
In CorelDRAW 2018, the VBA support is under Utilities, and looks like this:
I don't recall how it looks in X7, but the same principal applies. You need to have VBA support installed, and it should be available as an option in the Setup.
There are some tutorials available on the Internet but I am not sure where to start and there is no Corel support for it.
One place to start is the Developer Area; a number of resources there.
You might also have a look at some of the content provided by Sub GDG_John( ) - GDG Macros VBA Lessons; lots of good stuff there.
Thank you for the links!
I found this:
To install the VBA and VSTA features On the Windows Control Panel, click Uninstall a program. Double-click CorelDRAW Graphics Suite or CorelDRAW Technical Suite on the Uninstall or change a program page. Enable the Modify option in the wizard that appears, and follow the instructions. On the Features page (page 2) of the installation wizard, enable the Utilities check box, and then enable the following check boxes in the Includes list box: Visual Basic for Applications Visual Studio Tools for Applications
But when I go to #3, I don't have "Modify" option, I only have "Uninstall" option.
What do I do? Can I ask questions in the Developer area?
