How do I make jeans texture ???

Hello

How do I make jeans texture ???   I have draw some jeans for some produktion, but need to make they look like jeans.  like this jpg.     dif. colors and wash      (I use X5)

Please post some of your jeans texture, how you do it :-)

  • I would start with a scan of actual denim and "distress" it in Photo Paint, then powerclip it into the shape I need. If you don't want to scan, I get a lot of textures from this site:

    http://cgtextures.com/

and the basic sign-up is free.

    • Hi Rigorigo,

here is a tutorial for doing it in Photoshop, but you could do the same in Photo-Paint. As Bob said, you may be better off scanning some real jeans.

      Best regards,
      Brian.

      • Or do it the easy way, using images of denim textures as bitmap fill:

        Denim Textures

Do a Google search for more.

        • Hi Patti,

thanks for posting that link to the jeans textures.

          Best regards,
          Brian.

          • HI all

            Thanks for posting

I can not realy make it look nice or look like the pic.  Crying     I think they use some other "jeans" software

            • Hi Rigorigo,

what is it you are trying to do? Are you applying a texture to a photograph, or applying a fill to a vector drawing? If you could post an example of what you are trying to achieve, I am sure there are people here who can help you get the result you are seeking.

              Best regards,
              Brian.

                Hi again

I have make this to show pic. so you can see what I'm trying to do. (PS:  I'm not trying to get drawings like the top pic. = I want the Straight  lines type, it more for production, so measurement are right)

I only try to get that effect where the jeans look like jeans (fill out color)  in dif. "wash"   dark/light color, sandblast etc.

                • Hi Rigorigo,

Sorry for all the questions....do they have to be in vector format, or can you draw in vector and then convert to bitmap to modify later? I ask this because I think you will have more control over what you can do in Photo-Paint than what you can do in Draw. Others may disagree, of course. If you fill the jeans with a bitmap fill and then edit in Photo-Paint, you can add all your highlights and shades a lot quicker and more realistically than you will be able to in Draw. You have all the merge modes to play with, blending of objects and Gaussian blur, etc. and even plug-ins, if you have any.

Combining the drawing power of Draw and editing power of PP you have it all.

                  Best regards,
                  Brian.

p.s. I am hoping Patti is going to have a play with this one...she is a very creative person. I am very attempted to make a pair of jeans myself for the fun of it (virutal-jeans, that is; not the real thing).

              • Hello Rigorigo,

There are at least two main options to create realistic grunge denim texture in CorelDRAW.

1-  Using a commercial software named C-DESIGN Fashion, that use CorelDRAW engine . It includes lot of specific functions for fashion designing, like the creation of indigo textures. Take a look at the video Texture demo here .

2- Download some basic denim seamless textures ( here you have a free collection ). Use CorelDRAW bitmap pattern fill tool to import the bmp image and apply it with pattern fill tool. Once applied to an object,  convert it to a bitmap , finally you can add the grunge effect in CorelPHOTO-PAINT painting over with some transparent textured brushes ( the C-Design Fashion video can give you an idea of the results;-)

I made a fast capture to show you what I mean , sorry but the interface is in Spanish .

Kind and creative regards from Spain, and happy denim design!

                  Brian.

                  • Hi Anna

                    • Hi Rigorigo,

I am looking forward to seeing some of your jeans images. Big Smile

If a like a pair, can I have them? Stick out tongue

                      Just kidding!!!

                    • Hey Anna,

I'm working on a similar thing. I need to give texture to a skirt where i need to show the shadow and light for the folds in the skirt, but I'm unable to download C-Design Fashion. Is there an alternative?

                    • I found a quick way, download a Denim .jpg  sample and use Powerclip "Fit inside container" to add the denim fill. You have to resize the .jpg so it's larger than the container, works great and quick.

This is going to sound sarcastic, but I promise you it isn't.

I love it when someone comments on an old thread, I hadn't seen this one and if you hadn't commented on it, I would have missed it. Thanks!

More and more women especially young girls tend to change their monologue hairdos with colorful wigs. However, to refresh your look from time to time, how to restyle a wig is also should be paid attention to. The related specific websites can help a lot.
