Hello,
I heard the opinion that Corel Draw is not good for creating repeat pattern designs since 'the entire industry' use Adobe software and one can only work with the clients exchanging stuff made in Adobe. Is that true? I am a fashion designer, I have been using Corel Draw for over 10 years making random vectors, flats, putting together some art forms, but I want to start creating the repeats. Unfortunately, everyone saying that I shouldn't be doing it using Corel Draw... I like Corel Draw, I invested time and money to learn how to use it and to use it legally. I know that there are some special, additional options to make repeat patterns in Adobe... Can you share your experience of making repeat patterns in Corel? I know that in Adobe you work on layers.. Is it wise to try to make it on Corel Draw or should I just learn how to do it in Adobe software? Honest question. Greetings, A.
Hello, here's an affordable tool to help make tileable vector patterns in coreldraw:

The equivalent tool for adobe is about 250 USD. (Artlandia)
Hi, thank you! It looks really interesting and useful. I think that for people who make geometrical patterns it can be a fantastic time saver. I would never think of looking for something like that... I am not that much into heavy geometrical stuff, but I can see that it could speed up the entire process of building an elaborated portfolio. I think I could try it... But what would you suggest for florals, asymmetrical patterns, etc.? I know that in order to keep it seamless one needs to kind of mirror the elements on each side. So arranging the elements and cropping them is another thing.. Greetings!
The tool has that purpose in mind - to make tileable patterns. Check these 2 posts:
