Wordpress Header

I am trying to create a 230x40 Header for my wordpress blog, when I open a saved image from my computer, copy and paste it to my canvas, it becomes huge, and not like what it should look like. When I try to resize it, it screws with the resolution. Can someone give me the instructions on how to keep resolution when resizing images?

  • We need more information:

    Resizing up(can't) or resizing down(can)?

    Photopaint? or Draw? or other?

    • I'm trying to make the image almost 3/4 small of original, so down i guess. I am using the Pro-x3 free trial version. Does that make sense. I am new at all this graphic design, but its cool as heck.

      • If you goto https://www.advocare.com/09094908/Store/default.aspx the icon in the upper left hand corner in blue that reads "Advocare" that is the image I want to add to my header for my wordpress blog. I want it the same size as that, but when I paste it into a 230x40 header it becomes bigger than on my advocare site.

        • I think what you'll need to do is make a 230x40 image that includes your logo.  The one you have on advocare.com is actually 89x53, so it's a little too tall, you'll have to shrink it to fit in a 40px height.

Now, as for how to do that, it looks like you are using PaintShop Pro or PaintShop PhotoPro, which I don't have. This means I can't actually tell you how in specifics.

          Hope this is helpful

PS there is a forum here dedicated to PaintShop, maybe you can get specifics there.

Well, if you're simply trying to make your small logo larger it is likely to get blurry.  There just is no way to enlarge something like that and keep any sort of quality.

What I'm describing is creating a new image that is the correct size, and perhaps pasting your little logo into that.  The only resize of that little logo I'd recommend is actually to make it smaller, to fit in the 40px height.
