The image to the left is a scan of a vinyl cut pattern. What im trying to do is vinyl cut the inner small triangles.
Im sure its easy. In Corel, how do I select the inner triangles, remove any blemishes and make ready to cut via vinyl cutter
click on the smart fill tool then click inside of the darker triangles - which are the intersection of the lighter ones - That tool will create a new curve based on the closest lines to the point on you clickcopy the new curves on a new document...I hope it helps
Hey thanks for your help. Looks like youve done it!
Except your dealing with a novic.
Ive got the smart fill tool and hover the cross over the darker triangle, left click mouse and the whole screen goes a grey blue??
no because what im doing is sticking the individual shape onto pottery and then where the patterns overlap i want to be able to create that shape exactly, to cut in vinyl and reapply on the clay to achieve the translucent effect that is created with the vinyl???
and as the pattern goes around the form the internal pattern changes so it has to be a replica from the scanned image
May I ask your skill level?
Like is this something that can be achieved??
Sure... CorelDraw knowledge leve 9/10... vinyl cutting 0/10 .... pottery 0/10.... ;)
haha thats ok,
I thought it would be easy to find a command do do this. Maybe not?
Thanks for your help so far Nikolay. I have to go back to work
I just tried to send the file I created in CorelDraw... not able to upload it...
did you manage to work it out?
if it's an scanned image (JPG file) it's a botmap, and you must use vector for cut. On this case, since are all triangle, it's faster to use the Polygon tool, draw a rectangle, the duplicate it
