Consistent with my advanced years...I am still using Micrografx Designer for various projects and have just tried to access a number of older files and get an error message saying the application can't access the files owing to an I/O problem. Other files of the same vintage or older, open just fine.
I can only suspect the problem files are corrupted in some way. As they are quite complex, I am loathe to shrug my shoulders and start re-creating them from scratch. Does anyone know of this problem and/or a file repair program that works on M. Designer files (extension .dsf)?
Cheers,
Some files that Designer 7 refuses to open might open with the current version Corel DESIGNER 12. Have a try with the trial version that is available in the Downloads section of this community.
For saving them back to a file format that Designer 7 can open you need to export them to / save as CGM in Corel DESIGNER 12.
Best regards,Klaus.
I have a different, but related, question. I have about 150 files (.DRW) created in an early version of Micrographx Designer (2 or 3?) that I'd love to be able to use. Is there any way I can read them and convert the graphics to another application?
Many thanks,
Barb
Hi Barb,
see my response in the other forum post: DRW files can be opened in Corel DESIGNER X5 for editing.
