i never use clone command. i could not understand what is its benefits
how many of you using very mostly.
please reply.
Use it all the time. Hugely useful for drawing symmetrical objects. You do need to understand how it works though.
Often you have to accomplish what you want by scaling or rotating using all nodes.
For instance, if you mirror a clone it will then no longer repsond to changes in the size or angle of the master, you have broken that relationship. So if you want to do that you have to select the master with the shape tool, select all nodes and then scale or rotate them.
If you edit any property of the clone it will no longer link to the master.
In addition to what Hywel said: If we "accidentally" change the properties of a clone so it loses its link to the master, it is possible to repair the destroyed connection by right clicking the clone and choosing Revert To Master.Clones is a very powerful feature but unfortunately (and I'm sure you agree, Hywel) it is yet another one of those old features that hasn't been properly updated to its full potential.
Still bugs that I logged years back. One such is if a clone is grouped with the master. Edit the master and the clone jumps out of position.
truly i found nothing in this command. Despite it should be liike this. if i copy one element in page itself in various places ... similarly in another pages.... then this clone command acts like this. once i click the clone command while selecting the object... then it says it calculates and counts saying that there are totally 30 copies are cloned using the selected object. you want to update them all ... if i press yes ... then all of the copied clones are updated. if i say no ... then only the selected object is updated. THIS SHOULD BE LIKE THIS.
