Dull colors in PDF output

Hi All,

I am having a problem when I output files to PDF - the colors become very dull. I have reviewed the posts on this forum but still have not come to a resolution.

The only work around that did help was changing the compatibility to Acrobat 4.0. This changes the "Output all objects as: RGB".

I am usually outputting files that go to an offset press.

How can I get the colors to look correctly in the PDF?

Just choose another PDF compatibility level, like acrobat 5

None of the PDF modes with a slash after it create PDF's with RGB images correctly when native is selected in color mgmt.

The yellow combinations below do not work for RGB bitmaps.

I have the same problem and it is BIG. I have to be able to convert to CMYK for print jobs. I tried everything listed here and nothing has helped. In the past, before CorelDraw x 6 & 7, I always set my document settingds to converted imported images to CMYK before adding layers of text, and converted to PDF with a custom setting the started with Adobe PDF/ X1a changed the output colors to CMYK and all worked perfectly. Now I have a huge problem with this cloud business. I almost lost a client over it. I have found that the ony way to get true color conversion in these files is to convert the whole page to a bitmap and export it to Publisher format in RGB. Once in Publisher I can then convert the file to CMYK.
BTW. I tried your answer about changing the CM settings. There is not choice for "professional output" in x7. Also, I have tried changing those settings in different ways and went back to North American Prepress because I didn't see (and probably don't understand all these settings) any improvement. I've tried every PDF conversion setting I can think of but cannot get a good conversion that is vibrant. Very Frustration!
