This looks very much like the cause of the problem that Mike Ver Duin is having at http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/33943.aspx
Is anybody else finding their fontnav (64 bit or otherwise) is diagnosing italic fonts as duplicates?
My details:
X6 installed on newly delivered 64 bit win 7 professional (with all available windows updates).
Asked fontnav to find fonts from D:\Users\Public\Documents\Corel\Content X6\Fonts (as installed from X6 DVD).
The catalogue shows at most two fonts from each family of four:
Going to file > Settings > Duplicate Fonts shows the reason: the regular and italic versions of the font have been improperly detected as duplicates of each other.
It applies equally to the fonts on the Corel CD and those already installed in windows, including standard fonts such as Times New Roman.

Thank you Jesus. Or in this case, harryLondon!
Exact same problem and I'm 32 bit windows 7
And all those duplicate fonts for each of those is the result of installing them just yesterday. I think I'm going to uninstall BFN for now and see what happens.
I think I'm happier to know I'm not crazy than I am mad that it is a problem.
Brute-Fish said:I see that Font Expert has plug-ins for Adobe products replicating the automatic font installation that we enjoy when using BFN. IMO, Corel should reach out to the makers of Font Expert and license their software for use with the DRAW suite.
I am not a huge fan of the 'work-around' but I just installed NexusFont (and I'll be making a donation if things continue to go smoothly). It can load a font on the fly while in the document as long as you keep it open and running on your system.
I uninstalled BFN, then installed NexusFont, As a 'group' I added my Extra Font list of 3000+ random fonts that I want to be able to use but not keep installed. Then as long as NexusFont is open, I can use any of the fonts without installing them. It's really weird because it 'just works' (at least for me it does).
For example, I don't have 'umbra' installed. I open NexusFont. I open corel I use umbra and it is there. I close both programs. I open Just Corel and then the file I saved with Umbra in it and it says Umbra isn't installed. Close corel, Open NexusFont and Reopen the corel file and BOOM there is umbra just as fine as can be.
So as workarounds go, I like it.
Maybe Corel should buy NexusFont... Link to website
EDIT:
Normally I don't mark my own stuff as an answer, but I've been running for several hours now with no problems at all. I even found another program called RBTray that runs NexusFont in the system tray/notification area so it is always running and out of the way. It is a complete solution for me at least (until Corel/Bitstream fixes it)
