See the attached. Having issues with the property bar dimensions. The paper size is 6" x 6". I cut-n-pasted the object in at 4.385 High x 4.783 Long. Resolution for file and object both being 300 dpi. The property bar is reflecting 18.26389 x 19.91666. It's close to a scale of 4:1 but I couldn't find any global scaling in the settings. I calibrated the rulers but that made no difference. How do I get the dimensions to match what the object actually is?

The dimensions are being displayed as if the object is 72dpi, which is probably the resolution of your display screen.
I'm not sure how you change it, but using that ratio 300/72 you can at least correct for the problem until somebody comes up with an answer.
