This looks very much like the cause of the problem that Mike Ver Duin is having at http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/33943.aspx
Is anybody else finding their fontnav (64 bit or otherwise) is diagnosing italic fonts as duplicates?
My details:
X6 installed on newly delivered 64 bit win 7 professional (with all available windows updates).
Asked fontnav to find fonts from D:\Users\Public\Documents\Corel\Content X6\Fonts (as installed from X6 DVD).
The catalogue shows at most two fonts from each family of four:
Going to file > Settings > Duplicate Fonts shows the reason: the regular and italic versions of the font have been improperly detected as duplicates of each other.
It applies equally to the fonts on the Corel CD and those already installed in windows, including standard fonts such as Times New Roman.

I'm having the same problem, except that for me it seems to be working correctly on my 64 bit desktop (at least I haven't noticed any fonts misbehaving there yet), but not working on my 32 bit laptop where several fonts are showing only two of the four fonts on the group.
Does anyone know if Corel have acknowledged that this is actually a recognised problem and is going to get fixed.
I deleted the FontNav database, rebooted, re-created the FontNav database, rebooted again and now it seems to be OK. What a f*****g palaver!

Claude did say earlier that would be necessary. But it should also have been stated in the release notes.

Yes, you do need to rebuild your font database. I do not know why it is not in the release notes.

Or knowing that this is likely to be a problem, that the update didn't delete the database - or at least prompt the user during the installation to allow the database to be deleted.

We're looking into this...
