I've upgraded from X6 and Tabs are driving me insane. I drag in any number of images to view and work on them side by side. What do I need? - auto-resizing, floating windows and all the real estate I can muster.
1) Sure, open images using Open or Open Recent... and if the Option is set to "Open documents in floating window" they will open in floating windows, but drag them in from Windows Explorer and they tab. Can we have consistency here? Better still, can we get rid of tabs?
2) Tabs should be optional. They take up real estate and get in the way of working with multiple images.
3) The snap feature which opens the image to full workspace should also be an option. Why should I have to use Ctrl just to dock windows across the top? Lunacy.
4) no auto-resize of the floating window? Seriously? I mean, seriously? Corel clearly wants me to use tabs, but seriously, no auto-resize of the windows? Really? How many lines of coding must that have saved?
Here's where I'm coming from. I use SolidEdge CAD and when they introduced a revolutionary non-history-based method of creating 3D objects they had the good sense to maintain the old history-based method for those who preferred it. Everybody was happy. Cannot the same be done here and allow floating windows exactly as they were in X6, just for those of us who prefer/need that way of working?
People don't want truth, they want someone to blindly jump up and champton their cause. Unfortunately Ariel this is a sign of our times all huff and puff zero work.
I suppored fixing the non auto docking as the OP calls it as soon as it was brought to my attention, but in a manner that was not public, I also brought on board others who were in the web industry to give council to Corel. Corel made their choice.
This is why I know it won't get changed without SIGNIFICANT effort the truth. However that makes me a bad person.
I take exception to that, Mr Milisock. I find your attitude rude and insulting. You deal with criticism through argument, not by the use of personally-orientated language or deprecating a person's intelligence or perception by stating that they have "comprehension issues". What knowledge of me makes you think that comment is acceptable? It's deeply insulting and you should apologise.
This is not a grudge match. This is a Paint issue. Keep your personal view of fellow members to yourself. In fact, I'd rather you stopped commenting on this stream as your language and attitude is deeply problematic.
I'd prefer you use your undoubted experience to the advantage of other Paint users and not just blindly argue against proposals by putting forward the thought - tough, it ain't ever gonna change, mate, so I'll argue against you for no reason other than I'm happy with Paint as it is and I don't care what you want. That's MY perception and it's based on your comments above.
For the good of everyone here, please leave this thread to users who WANT A CHANGE FOR THE BETTERMENT of Paint, instead of constantly and continually arguing against them.
Could we please have auto-docking and auto-resizing back, with tabs optional. It's a simple request, get behind it.
I respect your opinion and the fact that you have helped many people. Best regards
I'm glad you take exception, my statement about you comprehensive abilities are based on your interpretation of what I write. Except for my statement about your inability to comprehend, the two are not the same.
I put significant effort into Photo-PAINT improvements ovet several cycles into for Photo-PAINT starting in version 8, it's now version 23. Several would be 15 cycles.
I have told you how to promote the features you want, several of us have tried unsuccessfully over several build cycles. I hope you're successful but I can tell you that posting on this forum of the forum that preceeded it has had little to zero effect on any programming in Draw or Photo-PAINT.

I guess you (aliisa) meant that we want auto resizing back (always, or as a default selected option) plus auto-docking and tabs as two options you can turn off...
The worst thing with not having auto resizning of windows is not just when you open photos, but every time you change the zoom and then ALSO have to change the windows size AND often have to move the window too, one extra time... And yes, when I work with a photo, do I normally change the view size / zoom level 3 to 10 times and then must I adjust the windows every time, which become VERY irritating when you have 4 to 12 photos on the screen!!
Yes, that is a total of 12 to 120 windows adjustments I simply didn't have to do before...
Then do I open 4 to 12 other photos and optimize them... And normally a third time, resulting in 36 to 360 window adjustments, that "only" take 15 seconds each or 9 to 90 minutes that I could use a lot better...
And the big pictures is that I have over 2000 photos to optimize, which mean that I will totally waste 1500 to 5000 minutes on adjusting the image window, instead of just clicking the right zoom tool and it's done!
