Program crashes unexpectedly while performing various tasks (e.g., saving, printing, copying, pasting, etc., etc.). So far no tweaks suggested by Corel tech support over the last 3 months have resolved the problem. I exclusively use CorelDRAW to make life/safety diagrams of medical facilities. Typical workflow is to import PDF of existing diagram, ungroup, edit, save, and export new diagram to PDF for distribution. I am an experienced CDGS user, and am using a new Dell computer (plenty of RAM, good GPU, Windows 11, and all the software is up to date. Crashes less often when I perform my edits at a snail’s pace, but even then it crashes unexpectedly…seems like the program is having a problem managing multi-tasks. I’m sure that other CorelDRAW users have experienced this problem and hopefully found a solution. I joined the CorelDRAW community to find a solution. HELP!
What do you consider to be plenty of RAM, a good GPU?
I use a Dell Vostro 3710 x64-based PC, Windows 11 Pro, 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400, 2500 MHz 6 cores 12 logical processors, 16 GB Ram, Intel UHD Graphics 730 w/1GB Ram.
Barely enough RAM, an old processor and inadequate video.
12th Gen isn't old David. Released 2021. Still current production.
In fact the i5-12400 is a tad faster than your i9-9900K
First the system is poor, I blame Corel for publishing low system specs.
An i5 with 16GB of RAM a 1 GB video for CorelDRAW work, get real. The i5 was released in 2009, they're not tremendouslybetter now, I got my wife an i7 with 16 GB of RAM just to run the pro version of MS Office and our accounting program.
I had 6 programs open and over 5GB of files opened simultaneously yesterday with my i9 desktop, it has 64 GB RAM, an 8GB display card and a 2 TB SSD. It's getting long in the tooth, I'll retire it maybe this year but definitely in 2025.
Buying or building computers can be complicated, if you get poo advice you may not get WHT you pay for, the fact is if you don't get a good machine you'll certainly pay for what you didn't get.
File creation and work habits are another issue, graphic file creation is adrift on an ocean of both bad habits and lousy file creators.

Your 9th gen i9 is beaten by a 12th gen i5, Its called progresshttps://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i9-9900K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-12400/4028vs4122
Obviously not in real world settings? I have no issues with slowdowns and crashes, today I was running a file that used 2.56 GB of memory and when rapidly zooming the GPU would surge in some cases 9 to 14%
If there's one thing I've learned is that there are benchmarks then there are benchmarks.
