Hello,
from time to time (only in rare cases) I get the situation where my 2023 can't open the color mangement settings anymore.
So when I choose Extras (some versions Tools?) > Color management then nothing happens at all. No windows opens, no error message.
The same is true when I choose this from the symbol directly (Color Management).
Then I can't change the color mode or profile for a document. When I save the cdr under another name or sometimes CorelDraw version then I can access color management again. Even if the objects are exactly the same in the document, so it is not about the content.
Unfortunately I just have overwritten my current bad example :), so can't upload it. The current file works great again, so there is no current error file.
But perhaps the issue is known, if yes what can I check or change if the Color Management is not working anymore for a certain file?
thank you
What version of 2023 do you have?
I have the CorelDraw 2023 Special Edition. I know it's limited somehow but it has the Color Management exactly as I need it and I think it's the same as in the full version.
I will try to reproduce this :).
I made a new version that shows this error :). I attach a zip with the cdr inside.
When I open this in 2019 full version or 2023 Special Edition, in both cases the color management does not open.
What is interesting: when I just rename it with the Windows file renaming, then I can access the color management in both programs again :). Just the file name makes it possible again, and no change in CorelDraw.
Icons.zip
Here is the files saved as a V24 file. The original opened in my fully updated subscription 2024, had a spot color black that was showing C0 M0 Y0 K100 which is impossible try this.

I'd dump the SE version ASAP.
hello yes I saw this, too, but when I corrected it the error about the color management was still there. So the spot color CMYK thing it probably not the reason.
if you try my file in 2024, can you then access by Extras > Color Management the options and change the CMYK profile for this file?
I can't do it in the 2019 full version and 2023 SE. I can easily rename the file and then it works again, but I wonder why this happens.
You have to understand that you're running some bizarre neutered version of CorelDRAW. There is no Extras>Color Management feature in the REAL CorelDRAW. In the REAL CorelDRAW there is under the tools menu/color management, there you have complete control over the application and document color management settings.
When I opened your original file because of my professional level color management settings, Draw notified me that there was no embedded color profile and ask me what to do.
In short you have a file with a screwd up color management, I know this because your file uses a spot color black that my CorelDRAW recognized as C0 M0 Y0 K100 and that's not possible.
Hello as mentioned this is also the case in my 2019 full version, so this is not about the Special Edition (which has exactly the same full color management settings as the 2024 subscription version).
Also, when I correct the spot color issue you mention the error remains in the 2019 full version that I can not access the color management settings.
After all I wanted to know whether this is a known issue and it is not as it seems. It is more related to any CorelDraw color management error than to the document or any SE.
But it's good to know that it works in the 2024 version!
When I think about it, of course it can be because of the spot color error perhaps, I am new to CorelDraw color palettes and added a normal RGB or CMYK black and white into a spot color palette to make it easier to choose from, but this was not a good idea as it seems.
But still my point was not about a document where I indeed made a mistake, but that CorelDraw does not allow to choose a function from the menu in this file, and when I just rename the file in Windows, then CorelDraw allows it again :).
But I guess this is a very special case, not a "special edition case" :).
It works in 2024 because my settings told me there was no embedded profile and forced me to make a decision. Then I replaced the spot color with a C0 M0 Y0 K100 color from the CMYK color palette and renamed and saved the file.
I helped test and develop the color management for professional workflows in Draw, starting with X3 cycle and finally releasing in X5. Color Management has been the same since the release of X5, if you have 2019 and its acting weird then it's something corrupt somewhere. In none of the full versions for Windows is there an Extras selection to access color management.
SE was sold with limitations, if you're working professionally, I'd dump it.
